Train, Pedal Boats, and Carousel

Getting on or off at train stops

The Hermann Park Railroad takes a 20-25 minute journey around Hermann Park and departs from our main station, Kinder Station. Additional stops include MD Anderson Station across from the McGovern Centennial Gardens and the Houston Museum of Natural Science; Mullenweg Station across from Rice University and the METROrail; and Bob Weekly Station in The Commons across from the Texas Medical Center. Passengers are welcome to board at any of the stations. PLEASE NOTE: All passengers must exit the train at Kinder Station and re-enter the line if they would like to continue their ride. 

Pricing

  • Train day passes are $6 on weekdays (excluding holidays) and $7 on weekends and holidays. 
  • All riders 1 (one) year and older require a ticket. 
  • Train day passes expire at the end of the day they are first scanned. 
  • Train day passes are non-refundable and are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase 

Hermann Park Railroad Rules

  • All stations require a ticket to board the train for passengers 1 year and older 
  • All passengers 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult 
  • Remain seated and keep your hands and feet inside the train 
  • No food or drinks on the train 
  • Strollers and wagons are not permitted on the train 
  • Only ADA trained service dogs are permitted on the train 
  • All riders must exit the train at Kinder Station and re-enter the line to continue their ride 
  • The train must come to a complete stop before loading and unloading passengers

  • The train and train stations are wheelchair accessible 
  • All passengers 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult 
  • Remain seated and keep your hands and feet inside the train 
  • Small strollers must not take up a seat 
  • During peak hours we are unable to guarantee a seat while boarding at the remote station. 

Free rides for members

Hermann Park Conservancy members enjoy free, unlimited train rides on the second Saturday of every month. Members also have access to a Member Express line to skip the wait. To learn about additional membership benefits or to join today, click here

PEDAL BOATS

  • $14.50 PER BOAT for up to 4 riders 
  • Tickets are non-refundable and expire 30 days from the date of purchase 

Pedal Boat Rules

  • One rider must be at least 18 years old, and all riders 18 years old or older must sign a digital waiver.
    • QR codes are posted in the Gift Shop, at the pedal boat desk, on signage, and a link is included on your ticket confirmation email.
  • Maximum four (4) people per boat 
  • All riders must wear a life vest 
  • Children must be able to sit on their own 
  • No food or drinks on the pedal boats 
  • Only ADA service dogs are permitted on the pedal boats

Pricing

  • $3 for a single ride, $6 for a Carousel Day Pass 
  • Carousel day passes expire at the end of the day they are first scanned. 
  • Carousel day passes are non-refundable and are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase 
  • All persons under 42 inches in height must be accompanied by an adult and be adequately restrained. The accompanying adult does not need a ticket. 
  • Accompanying adults must stand next to the animal and hold onto their child. 
  • One ticket per ride for each rider. 
  • Seatbelts must be fastened while the ride is in motion. 
  • Persons who are pregnant or have physical impairments should view this ride for potential risks before riding. 
  • Persons who are visibly ill or under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted to ride. 
  • Two persons riding on one horse is prohibited. 
  • Walking on ride platform while ride is in motion is prohibited. 
  • Side saddle riding is prohibited. 
  • Food or drinks are not allowed on the carousel. 
  • Wet clothing is not allowed on the carousel.
