When You Register Online with HPC
When you register with HPC online, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information including your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.

Please note it is not necessary to release personally identifiable information to use this web site. When You Shop at the Hermann Park Conservancy Gift Shop
HPC uses a third party vendor to operate the HPC Gift Shop. The third party vendor may ask you to provide personally identifiable information necessary to fulfill your order request. This may include your name, billing and shipping postal addresses, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card number.

When You Make a Donation, Purchase a Membership or Event Ticket/Table, or Purchase Hermann Park Railroad or Pedal Boat Gift Tickets Online/ Offline
When making a donation and/or purchasing a membership, you will be asked to provide personally identifiable information necessary to process and service your request to a secure third party site operated by Blackbaud.

This may include your name, billing and shipping postal addresses, membership number, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card number. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone other than HPC and your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment.

When You Send HPC an E-mail
HPC is pleased to receive e-mails from you. Should you choose to send an e-mail to HPC, your message and e-mail address will be forwarded to the appropriate department within HPC and we may save your e-mail as part of our permanent records. Please be aware that any message, material, ideas, concepts, or other information sent to HPC by e-mail will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.

When You Sign Up for a Volunteer Activity or Employment Opportunity
When you request to be a volunteer by sending an email to HPC's volunteer department or submit a job application online to HPC, we will request your contact information in order to possibly contact you for an interview. Should you participate further in the volunteer recruitment or employment process, HPC may request that you appear in person for an interview and you may be required to complete an application, including your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, and photo ID.

Use of Information

Internal Use
We will use your personally identifiable information in order to respond to your request, process your contribution, or fulfill your online order. Your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment.

We may use your information to inform you of events, send you HPC newsletters, request monetary contributions, and send you promotions and updates about the Park. Out of respect of your privacy, e-mail recipients may opt out of receiving e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the e-mail message, changing your user profile, e-mailing info@hermannpark.org, or by calling us at 713-524-5876.

From time to time, HPC will send surveys. Unless we inform you otherwise, your voluntary participation in these surveys is completely anonymous. We use the information gathered from the surveys to better understand and improve the experience of visitors to Hermann Park and HPC’s website. 

HPC may combine the information you provide us online with other personally identifiable information, such as geographical information and purchase history, in order to better serve our visitors.

HPC’s web site may automatically collect some anonymous "non-personally identifiable" aggregate information, which may include visitors’ browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox), operating systems (e.g., Windows or Macintosh), Internet Service Providers, and other similar information. The information collected is used for statistical purposes to monitor how HPC's online visitors navigate our site, allowing us to tailor our web site to better accommodate our visitors.

External Use

Third Party Vendors
HPC may engage third party vendors in order to help us better service our visitors and customers. HPC partners with a third party vendor to operate the HPC Gift Shop as well as a third party vendor to collect and process online donations and purchases. From time to time, HPC partners with organizations to jointly promote events. In some of these cases, a third party vendor may be given limited access to information in order to send invitations. HPC requires its vendors to maintain the confidentiality and security of HPC information to which they are provided access and restricts the vendors from using the information in any way not expressly authorized by HPC.

Sharing HPC's List of Supporters
HPC does not rent, share, or sell donor lists. HPC never shares the information we receive from customers making an online purchase or supporters who register to receive emails from us.

Opt Out of Receiving Telephone Calls or Postal Mailings from HPC

Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct usage of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Children
HPC takes special care to protect the safety and privacy of children, and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any personal data to HPC. HPC encourages parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s internet usage and help enforce this privacy policy by instructing children to never provide personal data to HPC without their permission. In the event HPC learns they have inadvertently gathered personal information from children under the age of 13, HPC will take reasonable measures to promptly erase such information from HPC records.

Cookies
The HPC web site may use cookies (small files that store information on your computer's web browser) to enhance user experience on the site. Instagram
Hermann Park Conservancy may feature Instagram photos posted using #hermannpark on the Conservancy website, hermannpark.org. A Conservancy staff member monitors Instagram photos and responds to comments when necessary. The Conservancy never takes possession of the personal information belonging to an Instagram follower. Changes to Privacy Policy
